Shanghai winter school break: family trips
Shanghai's education commission sets winter break for ordinary primary and secondary schools from 23 January to 21 February 2027, inclusive, with term resuming on 22 February; summer is 1 July – 31 August 2027. No 2027 public-holiday or make-up-day arrangements are assumed here. International-curriculum schools and other cities differ, and schools hosting exams may adjust under district rules. The long winter break leaves room to avoid the busiest travel days.
