Holiday breaks
Semester break: family trips from Ankara
The education ministry's 2026/27 calendar applies nationally to MEB-affiliated primary and secondary schools, so Ankara shares these dates with the rest of Türkiye. The first term ends on Friday 22 January 2027, the semester break runs 25 January – 5 February and school returns on 8 February; with weekends, students are off 23 January – 7 February. There are also mid-term breaks on 16–20 November 2026 and 8–12 March 2027. The year ends on 25 June 2027; the autumn return is not verified here.

What to weigh
- The sixteen-day semester window is the longest school break before summer.
- The same national dates apply to MEB schools in other Turkish cities.
- The shortlist is ranked on modelled cost only; it does not filter by flight time, direct service, weather or entry rules. Check those yourself.
- The budget is an editable illustration in local currency for a family of four, not a typical, recommended or guaranteed amount.
