Queensland school holidays: family trips from Brisbane
Queensland's Department of Education lists the state-school summer holidays from 12 December 2026 to 26 January 2027, with Term 1 starting on 27 January. It also lists three official 2027 breaks and the following summer from 11 December 2027. Brisbane's summer starts earlier than Melbourne's, so a mid-December departure is possible for state-school families. Private and Catholic schools may differ, and the early-summer exception for specified remote schools is not assumed for Brisbane.
