Edinburgh school breaks: family trips from Edinburgh
The City of Edinburgh Council lists a winter holiday from 21 December 2026 to 5 January 2027 inclusive (return 6 January), a February mid-term of 15–19 February and a spring holiday of 5–19 April 2027 inclusive (return 20 April). Good Friday (26 March) and Easter Monday (29 March) are separate: schools resume on 30 March, so late March to mid-April is not one continuous break. The summer term ends on 29 June. Independent schools and other Scottish councils may differ.

- The five-day February example fits the mid-term week; with weekends the gap is nine days.
