MTC cost guide

How much does a week in Siem Reap and Angkor cost?

Siem Reap is a temple week: a three-day Angkor pass per adult, a tuk-tuk for each temple day, a private car to and from the airport and one town outing. Phnom Penh and the coast are not priced.

Scope, dates and party

These are dated ground-cost examples for two adults sharing one room, staying six nights over seven days, 10–16 November 2026. International flights, visas, insurance and shopping are excluded. They are planning examples, not live booking offers or year-round price ranges.

What is specific to this budget

  • The Angkor pass and the tuk-tuk days are the same in every tier; the hotel is what separates them.
  • The budget, mid-range and luxury tiers are led by the hotel: each tier is one named, date-matched hotel, and baskets A and B mainly change the food and activity mix; in some scopes (for example Rio) a basket also swaps transport, such as a private tour replacing bus trips. A higher hotel tier does not imply luxury dining or private transport.
  • What changes the bill most: the hotel you pick, the season and exact dates, and whether you keep to public transport. Party composition and room requirements can change pricing; these examples are for two adults in one room, so a different party needs repricing rather than linear multiplication.

Angkor pass and transport planning

The examples use the three-day pass at the foreign-adult price. Three temple days are planned: the small circuit, the grand circuit, and a longer day adding Banteay Srei, which costs more because of the distance.

Tuk-tuk days are vehicle hire only, without a guide; a licensed guide is an extra cost that is not included. The new Siem Reap airport is far from town, so the transfer is a car, not a tuk-tuk.

Dated cost examples

Six dated, itemised examples from 2026-11-10 to 2026-11-16: 6 nights and 7 days for two adults sharing one room, which is 14 person-days. Prices are as observed in September 2026, cover ground costs only, and are not multiplied out to other party sizes or trip lengths.

Dated planning estimate for two adults sharing one room, 10–16 November 2026, seven days/six nights. Flights excluded. Actual prices, availability, taxes and transport timing may differ; see the assumptions.

The Angkor three-day pass is priced for foreign adults; tuk-tuk days are vehicle hire only, without a guide.

Practical notes

Use SAI, the newer airport east of the city, rather than the closed former REP gateway. The model buys a return private car transfer, a three-day Angkor pass for each adult, three different tuk-tuk temple days and one city outing. Guide service is excluded and separately priced by the operator. Food uses a dated Siem Reap restaurant menu with taxes included. Three consecutive temple days avoid relying on conflicting online descriptions of the pass’s longer validity window. No lake boats, Phnom Penh or coastal extension is included.

Limits of these examples

Sources differ on whether the three-day Angkor pass is valid over 7 or 10 days; the plan here uses consecutive days, which fits both. Driver prices are published packages without a tax breakdown, and a guide is not included. Hotel meal and cancellation terms were not shown, and food is bought separately; restaurant prices are a reference and not every meal is available near the temples. Water offered by the driver is included; extra bottles are not. Covers Siem Reap only, not all of Cambodia.
