How much does a week in Rio de Janeiro cost?

A Rio week for two, 10–16 November 2026, based in Copacabana: beach-area hotels, a private airport transfer, metro and city buses, the Corcovado train to Christ the Redeemer and the Botanical Garden. The luxury tier is far higher than the others.

Scope, dates and party

These are dated ground-cost examples for two adults sharing one room, staying six nights over seven days, 10–16 November 2026. International flights, visas, insurance and shopping are excluded. They are planning examples, not live booking offers or year-round price ranges.

What is specific to this budget

  • Basket B replaces bus trips with a six-hour private landmarks tour; admissions and meals are not counted twice.
  • The budget, mid-range and luxury tiers are led by the hotel: each tier is one named, date-matched hotel, and baskets A and B mainly change the food and activity mix; in some scopes (for example Rio) a basket also swaps transport, such as a private tour replacing bus trips. A higher hotel tier does not imply luxury dining or private transport.
  • What changes the bill most: the hotel you pick, the season and exact dates, and whether you keep to public transport. Party composition and room requirements can change pricing; these examples are for two adults in one room, so a different party needs repricing rather than linear multiplication.

Sightseeing tickets and transport budget

Christ the Redeemer is priced as the return Corcovado train including monument access; the Botanical Garden uses the foreign-visitor price. Sugarloaf is not in these examples.

Daily travel uses the metro, with city buses to landmarks in basket A. The airport transfer is a private car each way.

Practical notes

The arrival record is GIG, not the closer domestic airport SDU. Two private airport transfers arepriced separately from local travel. The public-transport basket allows ten metro rides per adult plus four bus rides per adult for two landmark outings; it does not claim the metro reaches every entrance. The guided variant replaces those eight bus rides with one six-hour tour while keeping the other city journeys. Christ pricing includes the return train and monument admission, so do not add another monument fee. The Botanical Garden uses the foreign-visitor tariff. Sugarloaf and optional cruises are outside this priced itinerary.

Limits of these examples

A dated example for this guide, not a full study of Brazil. The food basket averages traveller reports and is not a fixed menu or fine-dining plan. Tour and airport prices are general observations without confirmed November availability. Some Corcovado and food source pages could not be reopened, so those prices carry medium confidence. Sugarloaf, boat trips, beach equipment and intercity travel are not included. Hotel meals were not shown and meals are priced separately; optional tips are excluded.
