MTC cost guide

How much does a week in Cancún cost?

A Cancún week for two, 10–16 November 2026: a room-only budget hotel, two resort tiers modelled as all-inclusive, a private airport transfer, Hotel Zone buses, the Maya Museum and the VISITAX visitor contribution.

Scope, dates and party

These are dated ground-cost examples for two adults sharing one room, staying six nights over seven days, 10–16 November 2026. International flights, visas, insurance and shopping are excluded. They are planning examples, not live booking offers or year-round price ranges.

What is specific to this budget

  • The luxury example, Iberostar Selection Coral, is an adults-only area: it is not a recommendation for families with children.
  • Iberostar's effective 2.5% lodging charge is the property's displayed charge, not a general statutory rate; Emporio displays its own 5% charge.
  • The budget, mid-range and luxury tiers are led by the hotel: each tier is one named, date-matched hotel, and baskets A and B mainly change the food and activity mix; in some scopes (for example Rio) a basket also swaps transport, such as a private tour replacing bus trips. A higher hotel tier does not imply luxury dining or private transport.
  • What changes the bill most: the hotel you pick, the season and exact dates, and whether you keep to public transport. Party composition and room requirements can change pricing; these examples are for two adults in one room, so a different party needs repricing rather than linear multiplication.

All-inclusive or room-only?

In the room-only budget tier, every meal is bought. The mid-range and luxury tiers are modelled on an all-inclusive board-plan assumption, so resort meals are treated as part of the room price and the only extra food is arrival- and departure-day meals plus optional outside dinners. Exact plan terms for these November dates were not exposed; confirm what your quoted booking includes before relying on this.

Compare the tiers line by line below: the food lines shrink in the tiers modelled as all-inclusive while the hotel line grows. Whether all-inclusive saves money depends on how much you would eat and drink outside.

Dated cost examples

Six dated, itemised examples from 2026-11-10 to 2026-11-16: 6 nights and 7 days for two adults sharing one room, which is 14 person-days. Prices are as observed in September 2026, cover ground costs only, and are not multiplied out to other party sizes or trip lengths.

Dated planning estimate for two adults sharing one room, 10–16 November 2026, seven days/six nights. Flights excluded. Actual prices, availability, taxes and transport timing may differ; see the assumptions.

The luxury sample, Iberostar Selection Coral, is an adults-only area: it is not a recommendation for families with children. Iberostar's effective 2.5% lodging charge is the property's displayed charge, not a general statutory rate. Mid-range and luxury are all-inclusive products; the only food added is bought on arrival and departure days plus optional outside dinners, and exact plan terms for these November dates were not exposed.

Practical notes

Use CUN and the separately priced private Hotel Zone round trip; ordinary buses are local transport. The Maya Museum ticket includes San Miguel i to, so do not add a second site ticket. Emporio is the lower-cost hotel sample with independently purchased food. Mid-range Iberostar Selection and premium adults-only Coral use their published all-inclusive products: no extra middle-day food allowance, with separately chosen food outside the resort on arrival/departure days. The environmental fee and VISITAX are distinct charges, each included once in the planning model. Preserve any existing VISITAX receipt. The room examples do not establish passport eligibility or include airfare.

Limits of these examples

A planning estimate that combines a dated room rate with separately published tax terms; not a November booking invoice. Room category, bedding, cancellation and the exact board-plan terms were not shown; the resort tiers are modelled as all-inclusive, so confirm what your quote includes. Iberostar's 2.5% is the property's displayed effective charge, not a general statutory lodging-tax rate, and bills may split it differently. These lines replace the supplier's tax total rather than adding to it. Arrival- and departure-day food is bought outside the resort. Coral is adults-only, so no child stay is priced. The VISITAX amount is the published figure; optional agent fees are excluded, so check your receipt to avoid paying twice. Bus fares rely on a recent secondary source, and food is a city reference. Optional excursions, the Riviera Maya and tips are not included.
