MTC route guide

Colombo and Bentota: city first, beach second

The researched six-night structure is two nights in Colombo followed by four in Bentota. Use the city stop for an introduction to Colombo, then keep the beach base slower. Check the actual flight times before treating seven calendar days as seven full sightseeing days.

Scope, dates and party

These are dated ground-cost examples for two adults sharing one room, staying six nights over seven days, 10–16 November 2026. International flights, visas, insurance and shopping are excluded. They are planning examples, not live booking offers or year-round price ranges.

Who this combination suits

Travellers who want a short city introduction and then an unhurried west-coast beach stay, without adding the hill country, wildlife parks or the east coast.

Night allocation and the transfer chain

Arrival → Colombo (two nights) → road transfer to Bentota (four nights) → road transfer back to the airport for departure. Those are the three vehicle legs priced in the cost guide.

The move to Bentota uses part of a day. Plan that day lightly rather than counting it as a full sightseeing day. No drive time or train schedule is promised here; check current options before booking.

Season and optional visits

The research concerns the west coast, whose best beach conditions differ from Sri Lanka's east coast. Check the season for the coast you will actually stay on. A Lunuganga visit is an optional researched addition, not part of every basket.

What needs extra days

Kandy and the hill country, safari parks and the east coast are separate extensions with their own transfers and nights. They are not priced in this route.
